How do you restore laundered leather to it’s original form?
Iya asked:
i accidentally sent my leather gloves to the laundry. when it came back it was stiff and it shrunk, so i wiped it with almost a whole kiwi bottle (liquid shoe polish) after, but it’s still quite stiff and shrunken. what do you think i should do to restore it back to life?
So how do i clean leather gloves? what do i do next time?

I’m afraid you can’t do anything now, they are ruined.

What andastra said is basically true in my experience — leather is ruined by laundering or even just getting very wet.
It *might* respond to a good working-in of mink oil, saddle soap, or something similar, but its a longshot.

leather cleaner or saddle soap both found at Walmart. Shrinkage can’t be helped. Liquid shoe polish does nothing to restore the condition. Good luck in the future.

You buy leather cleaner, and get a glove stretcher, If you can’t find one Put the gloves on and clean with the leather cleaner, remove the gloves and Take Foam covered curlers, Remove the foam and put them in the fingers after you’ve cleaned the glove and let them dry..
