Alysson D asked:
Over the holdiays, I left my leather purse on the ground. The cat decided that it was the litter box and pee’d all over it. It definitely soaked in a bit – the smell is quite musty. I don’t want to just throw the purse away – but is there a way to save it?

Too bad. Anything a cat pees on is garbage. Sorry.

Pet stores like PetsMart sell a product called “Nature’s Miracle” … I used a gallon of the stuff to get the smell out of concrete.
Try it on a small area to see if it discolors first … It might take repeated applications …but it works …it is a enzyme that destroys whatever is causing the odor.
Call around …I am sure you can find it.

2 words: PRO FESSIONAL…take it to a dry cleaner and tell then the truth. They may be able to help…

Dump the cat. Buy a new purse. It’s trash.

Once a liter box, forever a liter box!! There is NOTHING that will eliminate the smell of cat pee.

Try cleaning the outside with an antibacterial cleaner that is safe on leather. Then put one of the Innofresh pet odor absorbers (fragrance free activated carbon) inside your purse. I think that should work. I use these on my litter box and nothing is better. No chemicals or powders or stinky little odor absorbers. This really works. If you’re not familiar with it, I recommend you try for your litter box. Just clip them right onto the side and that’s it. I buy mine at their web site at look for the pet odor absorber
